DVD-R and DVD+R problem

computer:intel core 2 due 1.86Ghz,gforce 220gt 1gb , 2gb ram.

i am have windows XP home edition and i am trying to run a DVD-R on my computer and he isnt running but DVD+R can run on.
i formated to windows 7 and DVD-R can run on it.

what should i do?

could try opening up the tray and blowing out softly with some static free air say from a office supply. Blow softly across the laser head. On the other hand Some read lasers are more sensitive to color of the dye.

or the one that works what color is the dye? buy some in 3 pks i think. i have dual layers, dvds and cds. 50 and 100 pks.
different colors. some people cant read the disc. sometime a -R. might require purple, red, gray or blue. get some the same color that works. recopy the disc. slow speed might be better for a copy with very small files. try burning at highest speed then try. then slow down the burn.
