DVD -r dual layer

When is the dvd -r dual layer media coming out? Also will the current dual layer burners support it when it does come out?

i think ure referring to the blue ray disc....which is considered a cd-rw,dvd-rw. It should be realeased in laste 05 and it has the capacity of 25gb and some 50

no, hes not referring to blueray. he is referring to dvd disks which have 2 recordable layers, (like most movie dvds have two layers).

The media is out already, it's just that 1 dual layer dvd costs about 7 - 8 $ usd. Perhaps this is way major brick and mortar computer stores dont carry it, expensive and unpopular. But you can easily find dual layer media in internet stores, but it's cheaper to buy 2 DVDs
