dvd rom is not working!!!

recently i installed my new bought "labelflash" dvd-rom (rewritable) into my computer(i guess i didn't change the cables of the main cd-rom and dvd-rom), and it doesn't work! i put a new dvd disk into the dvd-rom, and it isn't spining, just the lamp gets green for 5 seconds, and taht's it, no dvd disk or simple cd found! then i heard about dvd rom program required for the computer to run dvd-rom, an i downloaded some kind of label flash program named lim.exe . tried to instal but it says "LabelFlash drive is not found". now what?

Is it under warranty? take it back and say "This piece of **** doesnt work!!"

Nah seriously, somethimes you can buy new hardware and you will find that it doesnt work, and thats what warranties/refunds are for.

Have you got a spare computer around, try it in that and see if it does the same. Does BIOS pick it up, check that to see if it does aswell.
