How many times can you burn movies on a dvd rw before its no longer any good or do they pretty much last forever?

depends on the make. Ive got some CD-RW`s that claim to be good to 1000 write/erase`s.

What are some good ones as far as bang for the buck? I am using memorex right now are they ok?

And I heard you can write/erase more with a cd-rw than you can with a dvd-rw thats why I was kinda wondering?

Memorex is one of the best companies out there for Blank DVD Media...So you'r OK on that..

You really don't want to use DVD-RW for movies, because DVD-RW are not compatible with lots of DVD players. Use DVD +R instead for movies.

Use DVD-RW for backing/saving Data..DVD-RW are very good at that..

Hope that Clears out some things...:D

What I am using the dvd rw for is burning movies on them and make sure everything is good, then I copy them to a dvd r. That way if something is not right with picture or sound I didnt just make a coaster. I have made quite a few coasters before I bought some rw's! I was just wondering how many times I could do this though?

on average

I was pretty sure about this, but also did some internet research

Obvs, this means keeping the dvd-rw in good quality, then it should last for AT LEAST 1000 writes and removals on the disc. The figure is the same as that of a cd-rw due to the similar technology, but there is little difference between the two.
Hope that helps
if not PM if you reply - thanks

I do exactly the same process that you do about checking the movies to make sure that everything is good before burning them to DVD+R.

But I don't use DVD-RW for that purpose, instead I save them on my hard drive as "DVD Folder", this way the burning software creates "Video_TS" folder on my HD that has the movie in it.

Then I check that movie using any DVD playing software... and then If everything is good,, I use COPY DVD to copy my movie into DVD+R..

Much better process then using DVD-RW... Saves Money and Time....

By the Way, I"m using "Roxio Easy Media Creator 7.5"...

Hope this helps...:D
