DVD to MP3

Is it a video or just music on a DVD? Whatever, I suppose, if you can find software that records what you hear, then you just start recording once you get the song you want, clip the ends, and convert to MP3...

Someone posted a free program to do this about a week ago... I know soungforge will too, but it's not free...

Yes, there are programs, but I don't think they work with simple integrated cards. He didn't specify in his sig if he had a separate card... anyway, separate card or not, I've used 3Dmp3 recorder, and it copies the sound, but at bad quality. It sounds like you put a mic to the speakers.

A good option would be to use some device, maybe an mp3 player, that has line-in recording.

Audacity will work just fine. It's free. Nero Wave Editor's Recording Console, and Messer work well too. Just make sure your Recording Properties in Volume Control are set to "Stereo Mix" if recording sound generated by the PC, or "Line In" if you've connected your DVD player to the PC, and if you have System Sounds ( like a toilet flush for emptying the Recycle Bin, for instance :D ), disable them while you record. Then use Audacity, or any other program you normally use to encode MP3's and you're finished.

1) Rip the DVD with DVD Decrypter (or similar program)
2) Demux the audio with DVD2Avi (or similar program)
3) Re-encode audio with besweet (or similar encoder)
