i have installed a dvdrom in my old pc
it works but no sound
my primary drive is the cd burner
i made the dvdrom the slave
the only sound cable i saw in there is connected to the cdrw...should i have two sound wires in there or is there a way to get sound from both drives with one cable?

Those sound cables are basically optional and obsolete anymore. I wouldn't worry about it. I don't even have one in my main computer.

so why dont i have sound then?
the sound works on one drive --the main cdrw
but the one i set to slave the dvdrom has no sound....

Well there is an AUX usually that you can plug it into if you have to. And if you have a sound card that has digital sound then it is no more obsolete I think.

Go to Device Manager, right click on the drive, click properties, select the properties tap, check Enable digital cd audio on this drive!!

digital audio cables are only 2 pin, not 4 and old sound cards dont have it. most cards only support 1 digital cable.

ok i have sound when i play a normal cd rom
in the dvd drive
but when i put a dvd in there is no sound
any suggestions?
