DVI - HDMI Question

I'm in over my head, just bought a DVI - HDMI cable and hooked it up to my computer, got it working. I just have it hooked up to my panasonic HD widescreen TV. The resolution and clarity are lacking, is there anything I can do to boost the graphics on my TV? the video card is a NVIDIA 8600GT 512MB. Any comments would be greatly apprectiated.
 
Don't expect a TV to show as clear and sharp picture as a "real" computer monitor, a bit of drop in the quality is normal. But do make sure that the resolution is set to the TVs native resolution.

Right your normals apps and windows wont won't match the quality of a monitor, but games really don't suffer at all, not on my display anyway :D
