DVI or VGA connector

I am going to buy a 320MB nVIDIA GeForce 8800 GTS - Dual DVI, HDTV, TV-Out and a 22" Widescreen LCD TFT Digital Display with internal speakers (DVI, 5ms).

It comes with a VGA connector but I have the option for £4.99 to add a DVI connector.

Which should I have and whats the main differences?
 
Sounds like the monitor only has a VGA input, but you can add a DVI-VGA converter. If thats the case, then you wont notice any difference because it just converts it back into the analog VGA signal. And most likely the video card will come with either one or two of those adapters.


- After re-reading your post, it's a bit confusing. You say you're monitor is DVI and has a response time of 5ms. Then you say it comes with a VGA connector, so which one is it?

If it has DVI, then all you need to do is make sure you get a DVI cable, and you can connect it right up to the DVI port on your video card, and there would be no reason for a connector.

They both have DVI in brackets so Im guessing this requires a DVI cable, do I need to buy 1? or will the monitor / graphics card some with 1?

Or would I be better converting them to vga?

Alright, now I know what your talking about.

Because they both have DVI ports, all you need to do is buy a DVI cable, which you can find for pretty cheap. Although i'm not sure if thats what you can add for an additional £4.99 - unless they call cables over there, connectors.

And no, VGA is worse then DVI, so you dont want to convert it (twice).
