DVI Port

Hello all I'm new around here and have a question regarding a desktop monitor I have. I believe the ports on the monitor are corroded and not getting a good connection as the screen will constantly flicker at best and at times just not work at all. Its a monitor I picked up for free and was just trying to salvage it. Can you replace the DVI port on a monitor and how big of a hassle would this be? Thanks in advance for any responses.

Hello and Welcome :)
Well, technically I'm sure you can fix it yourself, but honestly, I wouldn't go through all that hassle.
But if you are really dedicated, you can pick up a couple DVI adapters to solder on to the circuit board of the monitor.
Also, I'd recommend trying a different monitor to make sure the cable isn't bad or anything else isn't for that matter.

Great thank you for the response and the welcome! I wasn't sure how they were connected in the first place. Whether they were latched in or mounted more permanently. I know its not the cable as I have not only tried different DVI cables but also tried to run it through S-video and PCI.. The S-video gets me the same distortion where as the PCI gets nothing at all. Like I said I believe it comes from corrosion due to the environment it was sitting in which is what led to wanting to just replace the port if possible. Thank you again for the response
