DVI to VGA adapter, any good?

Since most of the new video cards only come with DVI outputs. But the thing is that I still dont have an LCD and my 20" CTR monitor only has VGA input. So while I was browsing through Newegg I found out that most of the cards that have only DVI outs come with DVI to VGA adapter. So I would like to know if this adapter will decrease the speed/quality of the video card? And if it would be better to just get a video card with VGA out-put.
Thank you

It wouldn't be any worse then if it had a VGA connection built in. DVI and VGA are actually very similar, and the converter's basically a straigt though connection.

My video card uses vga and a dvi outputs. I am using both in a dual monitor setup with a dvi-vga adaptor as i have identical monitors and there is no difference in my picture quality.
