I bought a DWQ120AB2 oem sony drive from newegg a couple weeks ago, I found out it wasn't reading much of anything, so I returned it for a replacement, I just got the replacement today and found out that it's doing the same thing. Now is it the drive or my computer?
I was going to upgrade the firmware but didn't because it was telling me to create an account with half size alphanumerals or something like that, along with disconnecting everything. I didn't know half the stuff that was mentioned on there.
a while back I read something about using a software called something 'root'(maybe mistaking)? to uninstall all the garbage that companies install into firmwares to stop piracy(or something like that). Does anyone know what that software or one like that is called?
by the way: I'm running windows xp pro with sp2.
it gives me this message when a cd/dvd is in the drive:
F:/ is not accessible.
The request could not be performed because of an I/O device error.
Help me please.
