Hi everyone, i'm a 19 year old (sexy :P) girl, and I have a question.

My brother who is a huge geek (big glasses, nerdy friends, yada yada) keeps telling me that i need to upgrade my dx 9 card to dx 10. I like to play games such as hearts and minesweeper, but he said that I need dx 10 to do this better.

He said i have to buy a new card, but i told him to stfu and talk to his nerdy friends, and that I can just upgrade it by downloading. Can i download dx 10 and install it on my dx 9 card via updates?

As far as I know, no. And you don't need a dx10 card to play mine sweeper or hearts...If that's all you do then it's just going to be a waste of money...and dx10 video cards won't be available until the end of this year or early next year, I forget which...

you cant get it on XP Vista exclusive

You can upgrade to DX10, but only at a software level, it won't fully support DX10.

btw, why in the world would you have an Alienware with a Rage 3D card?

Don't even ask....

Your bro is right, to fully support DX10, you need a new card. But with your intentions, you would be fine with a Windows 3.1 computer....

You can run hearts and mindsweeper on a Celeron 233mhz, 16mb ram, integrated video. Don't worrry about it.
