Dying Graphics Card?

A while ago, I was busy playing some Minecraft when my computer suddenly froze. The screen turned distorted and had all sorts of funky colors on it. The audio was frozen too, constantly repeating the last sound it made. My first assumption was that the graphics card was dying. I manually powered the system down and started it back up. Everything seemed to be fine until I opened up Chrome and the same thing happened, lots of funky colors and a frozen screen. This time, however, the screen went black after a couple of seconds and then my monitor reported that it wasn't receiving any signal. This only confirmed my first assumption. So I manually powered it down again started it back up but this time it didn't get far. Got to the welcome screen and it happened again so I thought I'd better take a picture of it.

So, is it time for a new graphics card? Thanks in advance.
 
If it is artifacting like that, It might be getting too hot. Look in GPU-Z or MSi after burner or whatever program you like to look at the temps. If they are insane, you might need to underclock it a bit.

I don't know if it is your GPU, but I would have bought a new one anyways.
 
I can't check the GPU temp at all. As soon as I get to the desktop the frozen funky color thing happens again. I tried loading up BIOS to check the temp there but it's not showing up. I also tried booting up in safe mode, which works just fine, but I'm not able to open up RealTemp or CPU-Z. I'll try to update the display drivers from safe mode and see if anything changes.
 
I guess that fixed it. Updated the display drivers from safe mode and everything seems to be fine now. Checked the temps and no problems there, currently idling at 46C. Ran through some benchmarks and played a couple games and nothing has happened yet. I'm using it to post this so I guess were good. I will post back if it happens again.
