E-Bay Smells!

All my experiences recently with E-bay.com make me want to look elsewhere for online auctions.

IOffer.com and EBid.com look like decent online auction sites. Anyone have any experience with these online auction sites?

What happened with it? For the most part I've been happy with eBay, I am just careful of who I buy things from.

I wanted to sell something with E-Bay. They won't let me sell unless I use their Paypal now. Their rules, regulations and fees are getting more and more ridiculous.

In short my Paypal account was shut off because I refused to pay someone for a $270 scam. Bought a bat off E-bay and the description stated the bat was in new condition. It snapped in half when a girl was using it after 20 hits. Paypal said the sell was legitimate. Thank goodness my credit card company sided with me.

Hmm, I thought you could sell items and accept only MO's or Checks. I do know what you are talking about though, their final value fees are expensive!

The final fee's are expensive but items sell always and quick because of it's popularity. I'd say try craigslist if you are not happy.

hello, saw this post and i just wanted to add my 2 cents on iOffer.

i've been using iOffer for awhile now and it's been pretty decent. there's a whole bunch of FREE features, like listings, pictures, stores, link....the list goes on. their FVF are lower than ebay, and i've been looking at different forums online, and more people are joining it and their website says they've been growing non-stop in the past year!

it may not be for everyone, because it depends on what you sell, but i recommend people giving it a try. it won't hurt because it's FREE to use. selling needs some self-promotion though. no alternative site is going to have the same traffic and sales as ebay, but the hard work will pay off.

I would think eBay is the best just because it is so widely used, but I have never tried other auction sites.

I second craigslist though. Generally you will get higher prices on craigslist, which is great if your selling. I've sold probably ten or so items and all the people have been nice, had the cash, were great to deal with.

Yeah...same here. Everyone says craigslist is a bad site. Yea there are scammers out there and especially in the job section of it. But every deal i have made on their was smooth and no weirdo's.

I hate Ebay anymore...they really jacked the prices up on EVERYTHING...then paypal is taking more money then ever from using Ebay.

Also I agree CraigsList is better for Local auctions too...I just sold a few 150 gallon and 75 gallon tanks for roughly. 400 per 150 and 200 per 75.
Between Ebay and Paypal they would taken a ton of my cash too.

Plus I had several piss ants win a auction and waste 2 weeks of my time and not buy the item...where is the freaking negative feedback....I think if you win a auction you should be charged WITHOUT YOUR PERMISSION to do so....don't bid if you don't intend to buy the item.

Yeah, from what I gather eBay is fine if you're buying, but sucks to sell on.

You bought a 2 hundred and seventy dollar baseball bat...?

I buy things all the time from ebay. Every purchase i made has been darn near perfect. I recieve the item when they say i should, communication is always solid, etc.

Someone gave me the money to buy the bat (that was a piece of garbage). I would never spend that amount of money on a softball bat. My last Dual-Core processor, motherboard and RAM were less than $270.
