Well first of all my system is as follows.
AMD Athlon XP 3200+
1024mb ocz dual channel premier series
200gb WD-SE, 8mb cache.
120gb Seagate Barracuda SATA
i partitioned 15gb for windows and 175gb for storage on the 200bg and left and sata one alone. ive been using this drive for a year now and no problems until now.
i was sitting there listening to music yesterday and all of a sudden a little message box appears on the bottom right corner telling me, "E:\???? is corrupt and unreadable"
all of a sudden i noticed that E: disappeared from My Computer. immediately i checked the drive management in administrative tools and it told me the 175.26gb was concidered free space. what i think is that the partition tables got corrupted. so i decided to create a logical drive with the remain space and used norton disk doctor take care of the error. i had 123gb used up on the drive before the crash, and now after i used norton disk doctor, it says i have 52gb used up except when i enter the drive there is no files or folders, and still it tells me there is space taken up
I don't have ANY IDEA what the heck is going on and i would be very happy if somone could help me. The information i have on the drive is vital and means a lot to me. years of writing poetry and books, and its all messed up.
Can anyone help me?
