my cousin just gave me 1, his neighbor gave it 2 him, i went over his house today 2 get it, and he told me that the HD was shot because it was smoking, wasnt the case, i've never heard of a HD smoking, i looked on the back, and noticed the PSU had a burnt spot on it, soo when i took it home, i put a PSU in and it worked, i was wondering whats the max the mobo will support, with RAM, and CPU, and if this can be OC'd? i dont care if i blow it up  lol, since it's a POS, it was 400MHZ, but put a 500MHZ CPU in, and it had 161MB RAM, soo i boosted 2 256MB. could anybody help me with this?

If it was me, I wouldn't be wasting my time with it. Either load up a Lite version of XP on it, or just stick a Linux distro, such as Ubuntu on it.

400 Mhz >> 500 Mhz isn't going to see much difference. With old things like that, they are good for holding files, like a music server. Or just writing up a letter, or browsing the internet. No good for anything else...

I doubt it can be overclocked and if it could, you would be lucky to get 566mhz. Older CPU's don't gain as much as newer ones. The maximum RAM is 256MB. I doubt it'll handle anything past 500Mhz, since the stock was a 400Mhz Celeron.

there's a bunch of jumpers, in the bottom, right corner of the mobo, then another set a little under the CPU.

that was te right Jumper, 1-2 is 4 Disable Built-In AGP, and 2-3 is 4 Enable Built-IN AGP, thats why i was getting the beeping probrably, when i put the jumper on 1-2.
