I use Outlook express for my e mail and I export my adress book as a Text file.

Now I am going to start useing Thunderbird for my e mail can I import my outlook address book I have as Text file?

Try exporting it as a different file other than text. I think an XML will work best, but yes, once it's exported in the right format you can import it into thunderbird.

Ok but what would be a good format I don't think I can export as what you say.

Are you sure TXT wont be able to ikmport in Thunderbird?

If this is on the same computer, been awhile since I used Thunderbird. Think when installing it asks if you want to import email/addresses and setting from outlook

it does. your right and will import. also i think text will work for export. Best bet if its installed let it. Or and should in outlook save in all formats (export). I think txt will import fine.

Even if it does not, Tools, Import
Robertbiferi, leave the Outlook address book as it is, no need to export.
Thunderbird will import from Outlook directly.

I am going to install thunderbird on win 7 so I thought I would export my outlook address to disc and then copy it to win 7.

Then iimport it into Thinderbird.

I know I can use win live mail for win 7 I don't want to have to open a Hotmail or anyother e mail.

But if I use Thunderbird it will let me use it as is
