E-mail problem

Hi
Can anyone help please. When sending or recieving we keep getting the error message below. This only happens some times and effects all of our addresses. We are using outlook express, ISP is o2 and there was no problem until about 2 weeks ago. Phoned o2 and they said there was no problem at their end and that it was definitely our end and was probably caused by the virus checker (AVG). AVG has been installed for over 2 years so it seems strange that its taken until now to cause problems. Incase o2 were right I turned off e-mail scanner and the problem was still there although the error message was slightly different

Mesage with virus checker on

The server responded with an error. Account: 'O Email 5', Server: 'mail.o2.co.uk', Protocol: POP3, Server Response: '-ERR AVG POP3 Proxy Server: Cannot connect to the mail server!', Port: 110, Secure(SSL): No, Server Error: 0x800CCC90, Error Number: 0x800CCC90

With virus checker off

Your server has unexpectedly terminated the connection. Possible causes for this include server problems, network problems, or a long period of inactivity. Account: 'O Email 5', Server: 'mail.o2.co.uk', Protocol: POP3, Port: 110, Secure(SSL): No, Error Number: 0x800CCC0F

Any ideas

Thanks everyone

Seems strange it happens now when it has worked before with AVG. Have you done any major updates with AVG recently? Like a new version of the software?
