I have a laptop with an e-SATA socket and an external drive with a micro B USB3 socket. Can I connect the two, and if so, can anyone recommend a source of such a cable? There are plenty of options for e-SATA on the external drive to USB3 on the laptop, but not the other way round.

    Thanks.

    Doubtful

Thanks for the response. I don't think so, I'm looking for a male micro-B USB3 (to plug into the external hard drive) to a male e-SATA (to plug into my computer). My understanding is that the product you identified connects an e-SATA drive to a standard USB3 socket on the computer. Not sure if it would work the other way round even if a standard to micro-B USB3 adapter could be found.
