Buying an on sale E4300 from frys electronics: $79.99
aftermarket coolermaster HSF: $10.00 after mail in rebate
intel QX6850: $1,029.99

a core2duo E4300 running stable at 3.0ghz with a 1333FSB, matching the specs of the QX6850 with the exception of cache for less than 1/10 the price.... priceless. everyone should own an E4300.

Awww man! I see all these people OC'ing and I can't because my temps suck! :(

What are your temps Dirty?

idles at 22C, max load sees 48C. :)

and system temp never goes above 34C

this is all using the case in my sig... all i did was add a 120mm thermaltake fan in the front sucking cool air in. then i put an antec spotcool in the center, aimed at my heatsinks, to help direct the air out the back on the case. the rear 120mm was replaced with the same 120mm i am using for the front. and the vent that was on the side of the case was sanded down to be able to fit the coolermaster HSF. the fan for the HSF is pointed directly at the rear 120mm, and keeps my CPU ice cold :)

Maybe, but I wouldn't know what, I wouldn't want to spend too much on it...

My friend had the freezer pro on a e6600 and replaced it with a zalman 9700, dropped him 8 C, but if you got anything, getthe tuniq tower 120, its deffinatly one of the best, if not the best cooler you can buy, its pretty cheap too.

It keeps my other frineds QX6850 @ 21 C idle and 27 C load.

Good for you... Cept that I thought Quads were 4 cores, and Core 2 Duo's were 2 cores?

matching the specs of the QX6850

*shakes head*
