what he's trying to say is that in the UK there is no such thing as rebate so there would be no money off the retail price. That coolermaster would be around £20 over here, or $40ish

Have you tried putting a small amount of compound in the center of your CPU shield, about the size of a BB or small grain of rice and spreading it thin as you can over the shield with a credit card instead of doing that line from edge to edge like you talk about. The compound is just to fill in the imperfections between the two, not a layer between them.

My temps are 33c idle, 37c when using the internet and listening to music, about 42c when gaming and 55c on load.
