I was wondering what sort of difference performance wise was there between the E4300 and the E6300 if both are NOT overclocked.

I was asking because to me it seems that there is a bigger difference between the E6300 and E6400 or the E6400 and the E6600 than there is between the E4300 and the E6300. Am I wrong to think that?

The only major difference is that the E4300 has an 800Mhz FSB, while the E6300 has a 1066Mhz FSB.

The difference is less then $20 now, and if your going to leave them at stock, I would recommend the E6300.

the e4300 is like the budget processor in the c2d series. Mainly for those people who don't want to spend heaps but still get good performance. Think of it, that $20 that you save on the processor could put you under budget. The motherboard is what depicts what processor you can get. If your on a budget, you can get boards that support c2d's, but they only have a 800mhz fsb compared to the 1066mhz that the rest of core 2 duo's have. So basically, it's matter of how much you want to spend.
