I just read that an E4300 can OC from it's 1.8 to over 3.0 with very little voltage increase do to it's 200mhz and 9 multiplier. If this is true will it allow this cheap CPU to play the new games that are cpu hungry?

my first dual core was an E4300 i had it at 3.0 for the entire time i owned it. never had a single issue. for the money it is a great little CPU, and yes it will be able to handle the majority of games if overclocked to 3.0 ghz. i got rid of mine shortly after crysis came out and i remember being able to run it on high settings with reasonable FPS with an 8800GT and 4gigs of ram in vista 32 bit.

Thanks for the reply. With ddr2 1066 ram do you think it'd be possible to push the E4300 up to 4Ghz without any issues? Assuming liquid cooling and an ample PSU is involved.

i highly doubt it, the most i ever saw someone push it to was 3.3 or 3.4 IIRC

but trust me, if you get it to 3.0 stable you will have no desire to push it further because it is going to be pretty quick :good:
