I have a 2006 Dell E510 running a Pentium D 2.8gh I used to have a P4 3.0gh and im always getting incompatible CPU error but it still lets me use it even though it says that is there anyway i can get to to stop??

500gb sata 2 hhd
40gb ide hhd (back up drive)

Nope, because it's an unsupported processor. Surprised you got it working on that system.
 
Which exact pentium D do you have? 820 or 915? What bios revision are you running? Getting conflicting articles saying that they are only compatible with the P4's and then some are saying you can use Pentium D's.
 
Then I'm guessing your particular motherboard only supports the P4's. That pc was made using several different motherboards.
 
0wg261 doesn't officially support the Pentium D's. That's why you are getting that cpu incompatible message.
