Hello!
I'm trying to get a friend's E5x00 stable--it won't pass IBT with any clocks..it fails within 300-600 seconds (at 1200mhz/1.25V, it goes til 600, though at stock 2600mhz/1.25V it only takes 300). Any ideas? This is a CPU/Mobo/Mem re-build inside a Dell case/PSU.
 
So it won't pass IBT at stock clocks? It sounds like you got a faulty chip. :eek:

I would say the Dell PSU is to blame. I'm guessing it's something like 250w.

Sounds like memory, IBT is really memory intensive. Check memory voltages/clocks/timings, and if those are fine pull out memtest on each stick. Another issue may be poor +12v rail performance on the dell power supply, the psu's are barely enough to power what they come with stock generally.
