Hey all,

i have my Core 2 duo e6300 overclocked from 1.86Ghz to 2.5Ghz,However i have stopped at 2.5Ghz because my temps are getting higher than i would like so i dont think my cooler is sufficient enough.

im probably going to buy the Artic freezer 7 pro from danny (Kornowski) so what do you guys think the maximum overclock i could get without raising the voltage if i get the new cooler from dan and use Artic silver 5 paste?

well my e6420 is running at 3.3 ghz with a voltage of 1.45
and if i remember correctly mine needed a higher voltage at about 2.6
so you're probably either already at the limit or almost.
why don't you want to raise your voltage?

realy i can only get up to 2.5Ghz on the stock voltage?

i dont realy want to raise the voltage because im a chicken lol and i dont want to kill my new rig.

its already fast enough but if it can be pushed harder than 2.5 without a voltage raise then i would attempt to go further.

im happy so far though i mean from 1.86 Ghz to 2.5Ghz is quite a nice boost i think.

2.5GHz is nothing, and if you are worried about damaging your components then you can just raise it up slightly. I had my E6300 up to 3.21GHz for several months.

You won't get any higher.

The reason is because (most likely), temperatures aren't the issue here. So even if you are able to keep the CPU 5-10C cooler with the Freezer 7 Pro, it's the fact that the speeds are just too fast for the stock voltage.

hmm okay,I have gone up to 2.6Ghz but my temps were getting too high because of my crappy cooler.

I'm getting 32c idle and 46c load... :)

nice, atm both my cpu cores are idle at 49-51 c which obviusly isnt good for idle.

i know...nice overclock you have on that Quad Omega ;)
