E6400 VS p4 over 3.2 with HT

Well the E6400 is a lot slower, so what is it that makes it so much better? 2 cores yeah, but there got to be something else?

clock frequencies arent really a fair way to judge, and yeah, the e6400 is dual core and faster

These days, clock speed isnt the factor that defines the speed of a CPU. Yes, the P4 is 1Ghz more, but that doesnt mean its faster. Its the way the CPU is designed (CPU architecture) that makes such a big difference. (The L2 cache effects to

Yeah, the core 2 duo would kill the P4. Lets say the core 2 duo was battleship, the P4 would be a kayack

Well since we are on the subject, my friend is upgrading his computer. He is thinking he wants the ATI 1950, but which one? And a C2D probably E6600. So if you were going to use those what mother board would you get? And of course lets keep this as cheap as possible. thanx

the Core Two Duo is top of the line right now. It will own virtualy every other CPU on the market in almost every aspect. The E6400 is what you want.
