can someone tell me if both processors were running ddr2 800mhz ram with similar motherboards, graphics etc etc which one would be the faster of the two?

with out overclocking?

also what intel chip is the equivelant to the AMD 6000+?

i have now got the upgrading bug again, sucks really as ive just put liquid cooling inside my antec 900 and evryone should know that is hard to do

i would sugest the AMD 6000+ i have that chip an it is exelent my mate has the e6400 from intell an i have played on it an mine preforms a lot quicker

yeh thats what i thought

when i had the E6400 i was using 1GIG 667MHZ now im using 2gig 800mhz with the 6000+ so i thought that if i matched the ram on both that the intel might be better?

anyhow im wanting to know what is the exact match for the amd so i can make up my mind what to step up too next!

there is no point getting the 6400+ because that 0.2mhz per core is not what im after

may i ask you what operating system your using?

6G of DDR2 800 apser<---seems like over kill lol

i know on vista ultimate when my computer is sitting idle the ram usage is 40% so if you are using vista what is you ram usage on idle?

the ram was cheap so i bought a lot ceep me goin 4 future i was using XP pro SP2 for a while an then changed to XP Pro SP2 64bit so i could get ram
the e6850 runs at 3.0GHZ like the 6000+ an if your not planing on overclocking a lot i would still go with the 6000+
when im idle on xp pro sp2 64bit im using about 13% 800Meg

It is slightly better at stock, but I don't see why you wouldn't Overclock the Core 2. Besides...why would you get an E6400 when you can get the newer E6*50's or a Quad?

no the E6400 is what i used to have!!

besides im not ready for overclocking and dont really feel the need, i bought liquid cooling to drop my tempretures because the heat off this thing was unreal!!

i wanted to know if my present amd would kick my old intels asse at stock

then i wanted to know the intel equivelant at the present time so i knew what to get next...

ive lost track of intel's processors, not interested in quad core neither, not at this min
