e6600 and the e6700 overclock to the same amount

does the e6600 overclock to the same maximum amount as the e6700 in the same computer or can the e6700 go higher

It depends. They probably will overclock about the same amount, so it isn't worth the extra money.

If you are going to overclock, go with a lower end model, thats the whole point of OCing anyways. To get more out of less.

what's the point of lowering the muliplier if you're essentially paying more FOR the larger multiplier? isn't the multipliers the only real differences in the two models??
