E6850/E6750 in a P5N32-SLI SE?

I'm looking to upgrade to 1333Mhz FSB (with potential for OCing), and to DDR3. I want to upgrade my processor to an E6850 or E6750 and was wondering whether this would run in an Asus P5N32-SLI SE Deluxe, even though that MB is only a 1066MHz board?

I am selling my X6800 for upgrade funds, so if the new processor won't fit into the current motherboard (until I upgrade the MB and RAM which has to be done at the same time), then I will be without a computer in the mean time - which isn't feasible for me.

So does anybody know if the high bus speed processors will run in lower speed MBs?

Thanks

Edit: Not sure if it's relevant, but the current MB can and has been stably OCed to 1333MHz before. I was also curious about whether anyone knows if the E6850 will run stably at 4.0GHz with a Thermalright Ultra120-e and a MB/RAM that can also handle the OC?

There's no gurantee with OCing so I can't help you there. The CPUs themselves should work fine in the board but unless you can OC the bus to 1333MHz they will be running slower than advertised. If you OC the board to 1333 then an e6850 will be running at stock speed. To hit 4GHz you'd need to OC the FSB to 444MHz (1778MHz QDR)

Okay thanks.

The plan wasn't to OC the proc. until I get the new MB and RAM. But needed the new proc. to work in my current old MB in the mean time (prob a week or 2).
