And E6850 has 4MB cache, not 6MB

I'd go with the Q6600 as well. It doesnt have as high of a clock speed, but quad-cores will very quickly become more useful when it comes to games, especially with the release of a few new DX10 titles.

Um I think useing the current games.. I believe you would get higher Frames per second using the E6850, but like everyone else said for future games Q6600 would dominate the E6850.

You can OC the crap outta the E6850. I heard it is supposed to beat all current Kentsfield CPU's. As in the current model, not in current time.

The E6850 is gonna beat the E6600, E6700, and if it wasn't for the unlocked multi on the X6800, it would beat it, too. E6850 is a good buy, IMO. I would say 4.5Ghz, to actually make it do work. Take note that the links I posted were about an engineering sample, so no robots or factory equipment involved, it was handbuilt to perfection and will OC with perfection. I am getting one and the next largest 8k series card, maybe in SLI.

They are pretty close but Q6600 will be the future of CPU's

It will probably make it to 5.0Ghz MAX, that is pushing it. I was gonna run at around 3.6-4.2, I dunno yet.

Nope, Intel and some link I found admitted that the E6850 beat the Kentsfield CPU's. I can't find that link, I have googled all night for it, ARRGH. I have heard the 6850 core known as Conroe and Kilgore, I dunno which is correct.

Now you guys have got me kinda leaning between the two, lol.

First, overclocking isnt guaranteed.

If you were to get both right now (given that the E6850 is out now), then that will be better for gaming. But future games will run much better on a quad-core processor.

When the X6800 was out, it was a great processor, and when the QX6700 came out, the X6800 still outperformed in games. Because there arent any games out that are optimized for quad-cores, although in benchmarks the QX6700 was in the lead by far.
