E8500 or Q9550? Please give me your view!

I am wondering why you are even wanting to upgrade at all. You have a Quad-Core processor already. Upgrading to an Intel Quad-Core you will not see much of a difference in processing power.

I was thinking of going to Intel and not sticking with AMD

+1, the Phenom II's are on par with the Core 2 Quads, but not quite caught up with i7 yet.
