Well easy for you guys but I read and re-read this forum and I just need a starting point.
Here is what I have and I would like to upgrade it .
I have a GeForce nForce405 . Thats what I read on my Display Properties window.
I am guessing this is a video card that is built into my motherboard but I am not sure . Can someone tell me if it is built in to the motherboard ?
I have been reading Video Card 101 . http://www.computerforum.com/26602-video-card-101-a.html
I have ruled out Category C - "I'm building a gaming box ...and Category D - "I want to play all the latest games...
My question is where does my existing card stand ?
Less than Category A - I just want a basic video card...
Equal to Category A ?
Above Category A but less than Category B - "I want a video card that will let me play the occasional video game... ?
Equal to Category B ?
Greater than Category B ?
If I know where I stand then the Video Card 101 makes sense to me .
Assuming I get the answer what I have is garbage compared to Category A , Will I need to order anything else if I purchase a video card from either Category A or Category B will I need better cooling or a PSU ?
How do I find out if I have AGP or PCI-Express ? I do not wish to spend the money rebuilding if I have AGP .
