Ok, I'm kinda new to this whole Ebay bidding thing and I though one of you more experienced bidders could give me advice :good:

If I am currently being out-bidded on an item, is it wise to wait until the last seconds to bid again?

Thanks

If you have a fast internet connection, the yes. But if not, your bid may not get through in time if you bid in the last few seconds. A good idea is to use an autobidder and fix the amount it'll stop bidding at (the largest amount you're prepared to pay) as an unusual number, e.g. £36.73 as opposed to £36 or £37

bidnapper is a good one to try. They have a free trial, then you have to pay. It's worth it though if you need to buy a lot of stuff.

I personally look for auctions with a buy it now option.

^ Thx guys, I'll try my luck "sniping" the item at the last seconds myself tomorrow because I'll be home and have access to a computer when the auction ends and see how that goes.

No please dont do that,Imo Ebay Snipers are unfair and should be banned, the only reason Ebay allow them still to be used is because they still get their cut at the end of it so why would they care,But please dont cheat!...be a fair bidder.

Ok I didn't :) but I'm using the new live countdown window offered by Ebay themselves.

try to avoid purchases from outside of the USA. In peticular China, lots of fraud from that area. Either item doesnot exist or it is a knock-off. look for good feedback from over the course of years , some bad auctions have low good feedbacks from just a few days of purchases and are new members, they purchase items under a $1.00 and have no sellers feedback. Also some items are not covered under the buyer protection plan, be aware of what are covered and what is not. I have over the years save alot of money thru eBay but do research first. see what the item is retailing for from reputable retail sellers and know thevalue of any item you are buying, many items can be purchased cheaper from regular retailers.

Nature of the game. Its not cheating if Ebay allows it so its fair and open to anyone who wants to try it. I all the time get buyers to shutdown their auction and do business via the no fee route myself.

Don't bid on the same item multiple times. Doing so only raise the actual price of the item, and if you actually outbid someone, you are only encouraging them to come back to the auction to be the highest bidder again further driving the price up. Either wait till the last few seconds, or simply bid the most you're willing to bid. Anyway, you're a bit late on the whole eBay fad... that was so 2000... when it actually was fun :)
