If he got them on Utorrent, then do not use them. That means that he broke the copywirte laws (and by using them you are an accessory after the fact) by downloading them illegally. Also you can get all kinds of Maleware and Viruses from them.
well i got the external hard drive from my friend he told me he used utorrent but i don't have that on my computer so im trying to find another way

And it depend on what file you downloading by using uTorrent. Some is illegal and some is legal.
So do not mention any P2P here. Yes there is some legal stuff to be had there, but it is against the rules to discuss it.The use of torrent trackers or p2p software to obtain copyrighted material. Any discussion of programs like Limewire, Frostwire, eMule, eDonkey, etc.. is not allowed, whether or not you believe or suggest it's for legal use.

That is part of safe web surfing that should be practiced to avoid a virus.
THINK, and do some research before you download or you at the best will end up as part of a botnet, attacking some site you have no issue with.
