Editing computer . help

I'm going to be building a computer for someone. Hes got a max of $600 to spend and its going to be used to edit videos. What do you guys suggest i should put into it. Intel or AMD? and what video card? help me pick stuff out . thanks

Yeah, Intel would probably be the best choice, for once ;P But you didn't specify what type of video you'd be editing... DV, MPEG2, or what... Video card makes no difference, unless you plan to get one with video input...

Or unless you're using it for the OpenGL acceleration in something say like Premier....
