Educate me on using a proxy

I need to access this one website (www.e-gold.com if you must know) and I guess my internet here on campus is blocking it. I can't even get the page to load. The only way I can think of that would allow me access is to use a proxy. Problem is is that I have no clue how to do that. So could someone be my knight in shining armor and show me what to do?? It's very important.

that is a very helpful article, it tells you everything you need to know on the basics of a proxy.

GL using a proxy though. Most websites if they block certian sites they try to block all proxy sites aswell. Try dragon's sites proxy if you need one, if his site is still up that is.

here is one... it is easy to use:

just type in the name of the website you want to surf and it should go through! I use it at school.... and it gets past their firewall.... hope it works for you too

I can't use those types of sites because they don't allow you to login to the site you want to surf.
