EL Wire

Dave, do you know if getting some EL Wire such as this would be capable of emitting enough light as the pic of the "angel eyes" you posted above?

Also, I was bored today so I decided to install my cold cathode light in my car, it actually worked and looks pretty good.

I would say that that EL wire linked there would be slightly dimmer than the angle eyes linked to, which are circular cathodes i think... I think you can get brighter EL wire (or jsut over-volt it a bit)

Another thign to think about is (if you plan to use EL wire to make angel eyes) is that EL wire is basically just like a cable, a bit thicker than the wires coming out of a molex. This makes it a bit trickey to create perfect circles with. So if you douse it, you might end up with a wobbly angel eye, or a squashed circle, lol

eBay is a good place to find actual angel eye kits (or at least it was the last time i had a look)

*EDIT* - although after reading a bit, xoxide state that is brighter than usual, it might be ok then, but that picture might just be a stock photo of EL wire... if its brighter than the photo then it would be good, but if it is the same as the photo it may not be bright enough to rival that pic linked to on the last page.
