eliminating my Xmas online activities via Firefox

Hi there,
I've been doing a lot of browsing online over the last few weeks, picking up bits and pieces for my wife (and kids) for Christmas. Only problem is, while I generally like the facility in Firefox that remembers where I've been and pops the addresses up as a shortcut once I type in the first few letters, it's left some fairly obvious clues (particularly with one gift) for my wife if she happens to use my computer to go online herself and types in the kind of key letters that might bring up where I've been browsing. So the question is, how do I delete all that stuff - or at least the places I don't want her to see? Do I just delete the content in cookies, or does Firefox have it's own little file where it stores information?

Thanks.........Tim

tools - clear recent history.

in the future you can just go to tools- start private browsing and then start your searches and none of that will be logged after you close firefox.

^ that

Also, in the little search engine bar at the top right, you can right clock it and hit "clear search history".

I would surf every expensive store I could think of. The nosy perps would be so disappointed this Christmas, they would take no notice at all in subsequent years. Be cruel to be kind.

Thanks all, I appreciate the feedback. And Nanobyte - that's cruel!

Seriously, my wife isn't one to go snooping about. I just didn't want her accidentally popping up something that would have been a dead giveaway. Example? Her favorite candy in the whole world (don't ask me why, I don't think they're that great) is a fairly uncommon item called Mallo cup, which you can only find in a few select stores. As a novelty item to add to her other gifts, I wanted to get her an entire box of them, which was impossible from any of the nearby stores that stock them for sale individually. So I went online to the manufacturer's site (Boyer) to try and order them in. Thus, typing in the key letters 'bo' in the address bar would have given the game away to my wife - Boyer actually comes up as the sixth name on the list. That's why I wanted to get rid of it, just in case.

Next question. How do I eliminate search results on Google? Typing in 'Mallo Cup' was how I found Boyer. Now if I put the letters 'Ma' in Google it helpfully pops up 'Mallo Cup' for all to see. It would be just my luck that my wife would put those very letters in while searching for something herself.

I would delete the cookies. That should finish it up. Note you will have to type in your password the first time like here or other sites that require a password and user name. Every place ya visit will start over again.

ha that is awesome, or what you could do is, make sure they see the nice stuff say a $10,000 ear ring necklace and bracelet set for the wife or girl friend and then print that picture and wrap it in a box. It's the thought.
