if you do not know much about computers then I would definately recomment a pc. they are better supported when things go wrong and although they do not look as nice they are a hell of a lot cheaper.

I am still not convinced by Lorand. I think your comments are actually really dumb. Anyway, I'm not really leaning one way more than the other, but I still haven't heard from anyone who sounds like they have much personal mac experience except for those who used one once years ago. I'm sure that graphics or whatever have been updated in the past however many years. It seems to me that everyone is extremely biased and I think a lot of that is simply because macs are less common. Anyway, if you are all so hot on pcs what are some pcs that you all love the most?

Unfortunately I must work on Macs from time to time. And here's the Mac-facts:
1. A G4 with MacOS X is slower than my old Athlon 2000+ PC.
2. You can forget about multitasking when converting an eps to a 300 MB tif in Photoshop (I tried to work in QuarkXpress in the meantime, without any luck, so I had to wait 25 minutes until the end of that conversion).
3. The text reflows in a Quark document saved, closed and then reopened (this thing never happened to me on PCs).
4. Keyboard shortcuts - anything but ergonomic...
5. Mouse - no comment... you must see it for yourself...

almost ALL there computers use onboard graphics/very low end cards(9200SE?!?! its a $1200 computer!)...i wouldnt get any of them. not to mention you could build that for half the price if not less.
and no matter how "dumb" Lorand's comments sound (i don't believe there dumb at all) you should still consider what he has to say. mac's have been TERRIBLE in the past...and thats not to be overlooked today. some people llove them...but you dont see those people alot online showing off there awesome rigs...cuz there not awesome rigs lol.
