I have 2 Intel 5100 AGN network adapters. Until today I had just the one but I took one out off a doner machine I have. I want to to ICS to my phone with the second card so I installed it into the secondary port beside the existing card. The computer runs fun but when I try to enable the 2nd card in network menue or device manager the computer crashes stating IRQL Not Less Than Or Equal ... The computer is a Gateway p7811FX windows 8

I found a driver http://www.driverscape.com/download/intel(r)-wifi-link-5100-agn

I installed the latest one and it seemed to be a larger number than the one I had. The new driver is 14.3.2.1
Intel update utility was not updating, it was stating it had the latest driver. Now for the first time since I installed this second card I was able to run both at the same time for about 5 minutes before it crashed. Same thing as before I'm afraid but the new error is Bad Pool Caller in addition to IRQL Not Less Than Or Equal To. The first crash was at 226am and the second 228am

Question.... If you are running a wireless card and getting internet on your laptop why don't you just connect to the same router on the phone that the laptop connects to?

Because the signal seems too week to for my S6 to connect to. when it does connect it's slow... So, I've found a program called connectify which seems to do what I wanted it to do. But I still don't understand why intel utility wouldn't update it's own intel 5100 agn wireless card or why I can't run both cards at the same time.

For one, Intel no longer supports the 5100 card. There are no drivers for it past windows 7. How far away are you from the router with your phone? What router do you have?
