my windows xp dosent boot & i need to use my boot cd to access my c:/> in order to start windows, but i dont know the path & the name were the (*.exe) file which can start my windows is. would you help me please?
Like jd said, only operating systems that use MS-DOS as boot loader (Windows 1-3.x, Windows 9x, ME) can be booted from the command line. You can use your boot cd to do a chkdsk, fixboot and fixmbr, though, and see if that fixes whatever problem you're having, whatever it is. But you can't actually boot XP from the command line.
Any chance you could give more information on the actual problem you're having, so we can help you there?
EDIT: try typing "C:\ntldr"" in the command prompt just for the heck of it, if you want... ntldr is the XP boot loader. I'll be stumped if it actually works.
