Will a Corsair HX 620 Watt run my build

O/S:Microsoft Windows Vista Home Premium 64 Bit SP1
CPU:Intel Core 2 Quad Q6600 (G0) 3.0GHz w/ Thermalright Ultra-120
MB:Asus P5N32-E SLI Nvidia 680i Chipset
RAM:4GB OCZ DDR2 Reaper Enhanced Bandwidth Edition 800MHz 4 3 3 8 2T
HD:150GB Western Digital Raptor
GPU:nVidia XFX GeForce 8800 Ultra 768MB Extreme
Monitor:Samsung SyncMaster 22inch Widescreen
Sound:Sound Blaster X-Fi Xtreme Gamer
Input:Steelseries 5h V2 7.1 Headset | Microsoft HABU Laser Gaming mouse | Saitek Eclipse 2 Keyboard

plus another Ultra to make SLI?

I know Nvidia recommends 1000 Watts but I've heard of people doing it and this site I used which you put in your components and calculates how much power you need said I needed 480Ws.

So what do you think?

You will prob need more than a 480watt. Why not just get a big one, there not that expensive. I got my 600watt for $70.
 
You should be able to get by on a 620W system, however not if you want to go with two Ultra's.
 
Well with that chart im 130W out, but I was told that the Corsair HX 620 is good enough due to efficiency.

Anyway should I buy say 800Ws?
 
Efficiency has nothing to do with the amount of power a PSU can output. An efficient 620W will not power more than an inefficient 620W (assuming all else is equal).

I would not recommend running SLI'd 8800 Ultras on a Corsair 620W. A good 750W+ would be a better idea.

I worked out:

For single card 100% load and 50% capacitor aging is 594W

For dual cards 100% load and 50% capacitor aging is 765W


For single card 100% load and 30% capacitor aging is 515W

For dual cards 100% load and 30% capacitor aging is 663W


For single card 90% load and 20% capacitor aging is 428W

For dual cards 90% load and 20% capacitor aging is 551W


So what you think? 800W?
 
When and if you add an another ultra you will need a absolute min of 700w psu and a good quality one at that,better getting the 1000w to be safe, if you dont another ulra a 650w should be okay but again ensure that they are top quality
