eps file question

Hello, I am unfamiliar with eps files. I just downloaded a barcode from Bowker.com. It saved as an eps file and will not open on my pc. Do eps files require specific software the way pdf's rely on Adobe Reader? If so, what do I need to open this file? Thanks.

You can view it with a program called IrfanView. You can download it from here:
