On my main laptop, I used to have the Epson scanner (V30), as well as a legacy Minolta film scanner installed. I had to used something like a compatibility mode for the Minolta because it was really dated.
After I upgraded to Windows 10, the Epson scanner doesn't show up in the Printer & Scanner folder. So I went to Epson website and downloaded the newest one (compatible with Windows 10) and tried to installed it.
Right after I ran the installation when all the files were unzipped, the installation would pop up and changed to Minolta Dual Scan installation. If I go thru the installation, the Minolta Dual Scan icon would be on my desktop. But if I clicked on it, it would say "Cannot find scanner".
I tried uninstalling both the Epson and Minolta (even Vuscan) from the machine and then reinstalling Epson again. But the same thing happened. Somehow, the Minolta scanner seems to hijack the Epson installation.
I have installed the Epson on another machine, which didn't have the Minolta installed previously. So it is not the Epson driver.
How can I circumvent the Minolta issue?
