Error Loading Operating System

I had XP Pro on a ~150GB NTFS partition. I installed Ubuntu 6.06 on the remaining free ~90GB of space. I let Ubuntu do all the partitioning.
Upon restart, I recieved the "Error Loading Operating System" message just after the memory count. I put the Ubuntu disk back in, and deleted the partition that I had created on the installation. Reboot. Now the Grub Loading screen comes up, but doesn't quite get there, and I get an Error 22. Now I can't Use Either OS.
Is there a way to repair or fix the boot sector, (I assume that's where the problem is)?
Right now I just want to get my XP Pro back up and running without having to reinstall everything.

Are you sure you installed Ubuntu on a seperate partition, or did you install it on the same partition along with XP Pro?

If you can install the hard drive as a slave drive in another computer, you should be able to fix the boot sector that way.
 
I did however put in an old hdd last night with WIN98 SE on it, in order to copy my old files to the new HDD. But I think I restarted it a couple times with no problems. I know the boot order looks to the new HDD first anyway, so I don't think that that would be a problem.
 
I get the same message, but I formatted everything. I reinstalled XP from startup and I get that message.

Nothing on the site listed above helps.

PLEASE help!

(this is on another computer obviously)
