Hello people,

Okay so now i got a problem, when i start my pc the motherboards Logo shows and then i get the message.

Sec Master Hard Disk: S.M.A.R.T. Status BAD,Backup and Replace.

Press F1 to Resume

When i press F1 Vista loads up no problem, also both my hard drives are working in vista so im not quite sure what the hell my bios is on about?

Ive reset my BIOS to default, wasnt sure if it had anything to do with my overclock you see but resetting done nothing.
I stll get the message?

My hard drive set up is as follows

Western digital 400GB sata2 (Storage)

Seagate Barracude 250Gb Sata2 (Primary for OS)
Specs in sig.

Thanks people ;) :good:

Try running check disk or another program to make sure your drive hasn't gone bad.
Thats the s.m.a.r.t check for your hard drive.
If the drives are fine try disabling smart monitoring in bios.

just ran check disk,it had to restart as i was usign that drive...and it started and scanned.

then i got

Cannot open Volume for checking

then it just loaded windows up as normal so chkdisk was no help at all

......or do a BIOS flash.

But its been fine, just for some reason today.

If the Drive is bad,I still have guarentee for it so i can send it back but i want to make sure its faulty first or they charge you if its not.

Download the iso of the segate drive test program, boot from the iso, and test the drive.

Sometimes with an unstable overclock, it can corrupt the files on your hard drive. I agree with the Seatools suggestion. Make sure the drive is not failing.

Hopefully you just have a few corrupt files and you can just reinstall Windows.

hmm im shocked,i thought it was my seagate that was the problem....

It appears its my 400GB Western

That just poped up as i was surfing the internet.

Already backed up the drive,Luckily i only had just over 10Gb on that drive as it wasnt in the system that long as a backup drive.

Ive now taken out that drive,It will be destroyed with a hammer :D :good:

It failed Diagnostics full test and it said it was un-reparable.

Also checked Western digitals website to see if it was still under warrenty,It ended the last month of 08

I think im going to replace it this time with a nice External one, less clutter inside my case ;)
