Error message upon startup after virus deleted?

I had gotten a virus today after a sibling downloaded torrents using my computer -.-
It was one of those types of virus thats starts multiple proccesses, and slows your computer down.
Now, Norton 360 didn't do crap so I went into the process manager and tracked it down, and deleted the files (gotta love the command line column :)

But anyways, I'm getting this error message when I load up my profile:

Please begin with this:

Please download Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware HERE or HERE and save it to your desktop.

  • Double-click mbam-setup.exe and follow the prompts to install the program.
  • At the end, be sure a checkmark is placed next to
    o Update Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware
    o and Launch Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware​
  • then click Finish.
  • If an update is found, it will download and install the latest version. Please keep updating until it says you have the latest version.
  • Once the program has loaded, select Perform quick scan, then click Scan.
  • When the scan is complete, click OK, then Show Results to view the results.
  • Be sure that everything is checked, and click Remove Selected.
  • A log will be saved automatically which you can access by clicking on the Logs tab within Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware

If you continue to experience problems after doing this, please post a HijackThis log by doing the following:

Download the HijackThis installer from HERE

Run the installer and choose Install, indicating that you accept the licence agreement. The installer will place a shortcut on your desktop and launch HijackThis.

Click Do a system scan and save a logfile

Most of what HijackThis lists will be harmless or even essential, don't fix anything yet.

Post the logfile that HijackThis produces along with the Malwarebytes Anti-Malware log and a detailed description of the problems you are experiencing.
 
Can I ask why you dont want to use them?

All they do is work to see if you are infected, the type of infection, and remove malware, or generate system logs to help us see if there are still malware running or installed.
 
You may not be infection free and hijackthis will be able to get rid of that error. We just want to make sure you are infection free.
 
I just don't want to download it because of the fact that my pc is already cluttered up with applications at the moment, I will anyways, but It will be a pain looking through my application list.

Anyways, what am I supposed to check off on hijackthis?

I had a laptop come to me with a problem much similar to this and john instructed me to run combofix it fixed many errors with the registry and of course this startup problem. Great program i'm not sure you can run it on a 64 bit system though so wait until john comes back online and he can instruct you on what program it is that will run it on a 64 bit system.
 
Right click on the hijackthis program and click on run as administrator when opening hijackthis. Hijackthis requires administrator priviledges to view the hosts file when using vista or windows 7.

Please from now on, copy and paste any logs I request in a reply here in the forum instead of a file hosting site unless the log is longer then what is allowed on this forum. I've edited your last post so that it's easier to view your log at any time.


Rerun hijackthis and place checks next to the following entries.

I highly suggest downloading, update and run Superantispyware.

Okay, sorry about that. I wasn't sure if it was too long. Anyways, I will try that out tomorrow, and post back with what I find.
