hello this is the second time in this month that my dell 6400 has went to a blue screen and shut it down to prevent damages, the error says "Page_Fault_In_Nonpaged_Area" what could this mean? im not a computer geek so please help me!

Faulty hardware, a buggy system service, antivirus software, and a corrupted NTFS volume can all generate this type of error.

I would look at the sentence in thepage. Otherwise, I would think your memory was at fault. Get memtest86 is that sentence doesnt do anything

Most of the time its a memory problem, if you have two sticks of memory take 1 out at a time to see if it goes away.

i just had my computer fixed (or so i thought) by best buy. It costed nearly 300 to fix. I see Oscar says it might be "Anti-Virus Software" well im a dummy and dont have anti-virus at the time, could this be the problem?

No, its saying that the anti virus is messing with the ram. thus the error. Next time, dont fix your computer at best buy. we can help you here... and probably your computer isnt even worth $300... Get memtest86 from Microsoft, make it a bootable disk, insert into floppy drive, restart computer and boot from the floppy drive. that should start memtest and scan your memory for errors.

i dont have a floppy drive...i just need an easy fix. should i blame the geek squad since i paid them 300 bucks to fix it up??

and i dont have a anti-virus running on my pc yeah its there but i havent re-newed it yet.

Delte that antivirus , unless its norton or macfee, that'll destroy your system.
Do you have any hardware conflicts? Get a floppy drive, their cheap these days

for antivirus i suggest McAfee or Kaspersky

NEVER again take ur computer the Best Buy...unless u have a personal vendetta against your savings account...

Since you don't have a floppy just take the RAM sticks out one at a time and see if either are at fault. I really don't think it's the anti-virus that messed up the RAM...doesn't make sense (but could it be possible??? someone correct me if i'm wrong)
