SOLVED!!! Error trying to open shared folder on network
Help! My home network will not let me see the shares on my old computer.
I have two XP desktop computers cabled to a wireless router which is cabled to a DSL modem. I setup a home workgroup using the Network Wizard, but I am unable to share the files/folders that exist on my old computer from my new computer no matter what I try. Of course, the old computer can see the new computer shares just fine. I can ping each computer from the other computer. But I get a "not enough permissions/insufficient server space" type of error when I try to connect to a shared folder on the old computer.
I have enabled every sharing capability I can think of on the old computer's share folders and even the root drive, nogo. I have turned off the Windows firewall and uninstalled Norton, nogo. I have sacrificed a chicken on a full moon, nogo.
Thanks for any and all help!
